Kings County Water District
Projects
The Kings County Water District has an extensive list of near-term and long-term projects to help in the efforts to sustain groundwater levels within the district boundary. The near-term efforts are currently in the development stage and, generally, could proceed very quickly if funding becomes available. Given the dry conditions in 2021, the District is focused on implementing projects that will yield significant benefits in the next wet year. The list of long-term projects provides a perspective on the magnitude of efforts to be undertaken over the next several years associated with projects developed during the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) implementation period.
A funding letter was sent to the California Department of Water Resources in May 2021, and includes detailed descriptions for each project. Click here to download the letter.
